  • Hospitality Sunday

    Our Sisters in Faith Ministry will be hosting a Hospitality
    Sunday following all Masses on February 2nd in the parish hall. All are welcome to come together for conversation
    and fellowship. Attending our hospitality gathering is a
    great way to get to know new comers and longtime members that will make us feel more a part of our community.
    Light refreshments will be available for all to enjoy.

  • Candlemas Blessing

    Sunday Feb 2, 2020 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM

    With Candlemas falling on Sunday, February 2nd, during
    the 10:30am Mass, a Candlemas Blessing of Candles will
    be incorporated into the Mass. While "supplies" last, these
    blessed Candles will be available for parishioners to take
    home immediately following the Mass. You can never have
    enough blessings and blessed items in your possession.

  • Saint Blaise Throat Blessing

    Monday Feb 3, 2020 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM

    In honor of Saint Blaise Feast Day, we will offer blessing of
    the throats on Monday, February 3rd following the 7:30
    AM and 5:30 PM Daily Masses. We remember the faith of
    Saint Blaise each year and pray for blessings upon those
    who suffer from throat ailments. Moreover, always remember this blessing is a sign of our faith in God's protection
    and love for us and for the sick, and for those who need our
    prayers.

  • Movie Night Invite

    Thursday Feb 6, 2020 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM

    Please join us on Thursday, February 6th at 6:30 PM in
    our parish hall. In anticipation of the Our Lady of Lourdes
    Feast Day Feb 11th, we will be showing, Bernadette. From
    Jean Delannoy, one of France's foremost filmmakers,
    comes this top quality feature film production of the story of
    St. Bernadette and the apparitions of Our Lady of Lourdes.
    Actress Sydney Penny gives a beautiful performance as
    Bernadette. It is highly recommended by the Vatican as a
    "sensitive portrayal of a very moving story that deserves a
    wide audience." This is the film that was chosen to be
    shown daily at the shrine in Lourdes.

  • Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

    Friday Feb 7, 2020 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM

    Will take place on Friday, February 7, following the 7:30
    a.m. Mass and will conclude on Saturday, February 8,
    prior to the 7:30 a.m. Mass. Due to Masses on Friday the
    Blessed Sacrament will be reposed from 8:45 to 10:00
    AM, 12:00 to 12:45 PM and 5:15 to 6:00 PM. All are welcome to come and spend an hour with Jesus.

  • First Friday Mass and Devotion

    Friday Feb 7, 2020 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM

    Our fifth First Friday Mass and Devotion will be held on
    February 7th at 12:10 PM. Confession will be available
    as well, prior to Mass beginning at 11:30 AM. This devotion is in response to a request made in an appearance by
    Jesus Christ to the nun and now Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque. The great promise of the Sacred Heart is most consoling: the grace of final perseverance and the joy of having Jesus' heart as our sure refuge and infinite ocean of
    mercy in our last hour. New pamphlets on First Friday/
    First Saturday Devotions are available in the rack in the
    church vestibule. These pamphlets provide history,
    prayers, and devotions. Please take home a copy to use
    and attend our First Friday Masses at 12:10 PM (Oct.-
    June) and First Saturday Masses at 7:30 AM.

  • Scout Sunday

    Sunday Feb 9, 2020 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM

    The Boy Scouts of America annually celebrates its founding on February 8, 1910, based on the program started by
    Lord Baden Powell in England on August 1, 1907. Scout
    Sunday was added to the Scout celebration in the middle
    1940s. The Scout Sunday tradition was started to make
    people in houses of worship aware of Scouting, and to allow Scouts to live out their "Duty to God" pledged each
    week.
    We are once again pleased and proud to announce that
    Our Lady of the Assumption Parish will be celebrating
    Scout Sunday with local Scout troops and the American Heritage Girls at our 10:30 AM Mass on Sunday,
    February 9th. Please if you know of anyone involved in
    Scouting extend this invitation to them, their families and
    Scout Masters/supervisors.

  • Sisters In Faith

    The Sisters in Faith will host their next meeting on Monday, February 10th at 7:00 PM in the parish hall. We will
    welcome guest speaker Marcy Haley from the Center
    for Ignatian Spirituality at Fairfield University. Marcy is
    the Assistant Director of the Murphy Center for Ignatian
    Spirituality and a Spiritual Director. She is responsible for
    creating and facilitating retreat experiences in the Ignatian
    tradition for students, faculty, and staff at both the University and the Prep communities as well as those in our local
    community who seek to deepen their relationship with God.
    Marcy is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and
    received her spiritual direction formation at Fairfield University. She is also the proud mom of four boys. Please come
    and learn about the wonderful work going on at the Ignatian
    Center to help people explore the sacred aspect of being
    human and finding God in all things. All women of the Parish are welcome. Light refreshments will be provided. Hope

  • Anointing of the Sick

    Our Lady of Lourdes Celebration of the
    Anointing of the Sick within a Mass: Wednesday, February 12th at 12:10 PM in Church.
    Following the Mass a luncheon will be
    served in our parish hall, please RSVP to
    the parish office if you plan on attending.
    The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is one of the seven
    Sacraments of the Church. Any member of the Catholic
    faithful who is in danger of death, seriously ill, injured, suffering from a decline due to advanced age or enduring a
    severe suffering of any kind, is encouraged to attend.
    Please join us for this very special and very powerful Sacramental Celebration and Mass.

  • Vespers Service

    Sunday Feb 23, 2020 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM

    Come and pray together on Sunday, February 23rd at
    6:30 PM for our Evening Prayer, or “Vespers.” Vespers is
    part of the Liturgy of the Hours, also known as the Divine
    Office. Through this prayer, the people of God sanctify the
    day by continual praise of God and prayers of intercession
    for the needs of the world, and give thanks for the day just
    passed and makes an evening sacrifice of praise to God
    (see Psalm 141:1). In addition, Exposition of the Blessed
    Sacrament will be offered during this time. Please come
    and join together as a parish family and experience this
    beautiful prayer of the Divine Office.

    study will be on “Jesus: The Way, the Truth, and the

  • Evening Bible Study

    Thursday Feb 27, 2020 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM

    The Evening Bible Study Group will begin a new study on
    Thursday, February 27. Sessions are held in the Parish
    Center and begin at 7 PM and end at approximately 8:30
    pm. This 5-week session study, “A Biblical Walk through
    Christ’s Passion” reveals how Old Testament prophecies,
    messianic expectation, historical realities and powerful
    symbolism come together to reveal God’s unfathomable

    As we begin the season of Lent, please join us as we pray
    and meditate at each Station to commemorate the Passion
    of Christ and His sacrifice for us. The first service will take

    Our Lady of the Assumption parish will host it’s Fourth Annual “Irish Night” on Saturday February 29th
    beginning with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in honor of St. Patrick, St. Bridget & all the Holy
    Saints of Ireland at 5:30 PM. Mass will be immediately followed by a hearty home style meal and rousing Irish entertainment! Dinner, including appetizers & dessert, provided by O’Neills Irish Pub of South
    Norwalk (Ollie O’Neill, Proprietor, Cullen, Co. Tipperary) and music provided by the legendary Irish Express - John Connors (Kilmaine, Co. Mayo) & Martin Battle (Mullingar, Co. Westmeath) – with step dancers joining in the cráic!
    Tickets are $35 per person or $240 for a table of 8 and cash bar available. This is a night
    not to be missed!! So, bring your dancing shoes, and get ready for our own parish “hooley”!
