All Souls Envelopes
Special All Souls Envelopes can be found in your envelope packet. The completed envelope with the names of your deceased loved ones will be placed in our sanctuary during the month of November and they will be remembered in our prayers. Additional envelopes are available in the rack in the church vestibule. You may return your completed envelope in the offertory basket during the month of October.
Book of Remembrance
A Book of Remembrance with the names of all whose funerals were held here during the past year (November 1, 2016 to November 1, 2017) will be placed in our sanctuary during the month of November. Please remember the souls of our faithful departed in your prayers.
Dinners for Operation Hope are made on the 4th Tuesday of every month for delivery on Wednesday mornings. We are looking for a few volunteers to put on our food preparation list. We make salad, apple crisp, and cut vegetables, a very easy and enjoyable 1 1/2 hours that will make a difference in the lives of those in need in our own community. You do not need to make an every month commitment. Please contact Eileen Hepp at (203) 335-8027 or at firstname.lastname@example.org to add your name to our list.
Annual Great Thanksgiving Project
Every year the Bridgeport Rescue Mission gives away full Thanksgiving meals, including a turkey and a fixings bag to people in need in Fairfield County. Their annual Great Thanksgiving Project has helped more than 3,200 children and families with a delicious holiday meal. Our parish has committed to collecting 500 cans (CANS ONLY) of turkey gravy. Collection bins will be located in the Church Vestibule starting the weekend of September 23/24. Your donations, along with other local parishes, will help make the Great Thanksgiving Project touch the lives of thousands of men, women and children when they are in most need during the holiday.
Friday Morning Rosary
As we return from the summer months and to a regular routine, just a reminder that in celebration of the Blessed Mother, our parish invites you to our Friday Morning Rosary (Except for the First Friday of the month) at 9:00 AM. We will pray the Rosary together reflecting on the Mysteries but also on the ten principal virtues of Mary – her deep humility, lively faith, blind obedience, unceasing prayer, constant self-denial, surpassing purity, ardent love, heroic patience, angelic kindness and heavenly wisdom. All our invited.
Prayer Intention Basket
Index cards with envelopes are located in the Church vestibule on a table by door. If you have a particular prayer intention, please write it on the card provided, put the intention in the envelope and seal it. Place the sealed envelope in the basket. Each week the basket of prayer intentions will be taken from the back and placed on the altar for each Mass during the weekend, beginning with our Saturday Vigil. After the final Mass on Sunday, the intentions will be discarded to make room for a new set of intentions for the following week. There will then be no carry over of envelopes from the previous week, though please feel free to continue to write the same intention and seal it in a new weekly envelope as often as you would like. The prayer basket will be a visible reminder of the many prayers being offered up during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
School is in Session
Please remember school is in session and to slow down when entering and exiting, as well as driving through the parking lot. Children are playing in designated areas. Please SLOW DOWN and use the proper entrance and exit. Do not enter or exit by the rectory driveway. Let’s keep everyone safe.
Parish Finance Council
The Council has completed the OLA 4th quarter review

Reports can be found in the pamphlet rack in the church vestibule. Please take home a copy. Our parish continues to be fiscally sound and the Parish Finance Council members join Father Cipriani in thanking you for your continuing support.

Supporting Your Parish
We are excited to be working with a local Religious Gift Distributor to offer beautiful and high quality Religious gifts and items. This is a wonderful opportunity to support your parish and at the same time shop for essential religious items. For every purchase made, our parish is given a portion of the proceeds. Here is how it works:
Option 1: Visit www.churchgoods.com, place the items you would like to purchase in your cart. Proceed to checkout and enter the Code #590. You will receive your items in the mail.
Option 2: Visit Patrick Baker & Sons in their retail store located at 1650 West Street, Southington, CT 06489. Mention our church Code #590 when checking out.
Option 3: Call Patrick Baker & Sons directly to place your order at 1-800-243-6385. Mention our church Code #590 when placing order. You will receive your items in the mail.
The Face of Prayer
Are you willing to pray with the Bishop Caggiano every day? Text a selfie, your prayer intention, or the word “pray” to 55778 and join in the journey as we learn more about the power of prayer. Participants will receive a daily prayer intention from the bishop that ends with a call to prayer. The goal of the campaign is to have thousands of people – especially our young church - praying each day alongside the bishop as we grow together in holiness. Be the face of prayer and join today.
A Guide to Confession
Has it been a while since your last confession? Interested, but worried you don’t remember how to make a “good” confession? Simple pick up “A Guide to Confession” brochure in the rack located in the vestibule for helpful “how to” guidance. Then attend confession offered here at 3:00 PM on Saturdays, or on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 PM during Lent and on Good Friday 11 AM to 1 PM.
Knights In Action
This past week Knights of Columbus Council #11077 made a generous donation to Assumption Catholic School. The donation will assist the school to meet one of its academic goals with the formation of a Computer/Science Program for 7th & 8th Graders in their After-School Program. Students will have the opportunity to construct and program computer driven robots. We are pleased these funds will get this project off the ground.
We will continue to make available copies of each month of the Magnifcat in the church vestibule. The Magnificat is a wonderful companion to refresh, enhance and guide your prayer life with daily mass readings and prayers along with reflections and commentary. We ask that if you take a copy, please make a good will offering in the box provided to off-set the cost of the subscription. Supplies are limited.
Box for the Needy
We are committed to helping our parishioners. Let us reflect on our blessings and graces given to us by God and to look beyond ourselves to those in need. Please consider alms-giving as part of your regular offering to God. It may be as little as your spare change for the week or a bit more if you feel you can. We have a secure money box in the pamphlet rack in the church vestibule. All monies collected will go directly to help those in need in our own parish.
To Honor Our Military
The Knights want to continually update their list and acknowledge those men and women of "OUR" parish family serving in the armed forces of the United States of America. We ask you to submit any new names to us, indicating branch of service and rank. You can submit this information to us in the offertory collection or by calling Fred Coseglia at 203-371-8181.
What an honor it is to carry the bread and wine to the altar at Mass for consecration! If you would like to bring up the gifts at a mass that is being offered in memory of a loved one, please speak to an usher in the Vestibule as you enter church to volunteer. First priority will be given to these family members. However, any occasion can be a time to serve as a Gift Bearer, so if you are asked by an usher before mass, we encourage you to participate in the celebration of the Mass by presenting the gifts of bread and wine at the altar. There are no special skills or permanent ministerial duty, and yet it is a beautiful and significant part of the Mass performed by lay people.
Did you know that online giving allows you to track your gifts to your church? Your giving history is all recorded in your online account. Weekly Flower Offerings
What better way to celebrate someone’s birthday, an anniversary, honor someone or something special, or remember loved ones who are no longer with us by placing fresh flower arrangements on the altar or by tabernacle. An announce will appear in the bulletin to acknowledge your request. Please contact the parish office at least two weeks in advance to reserve any week during the year, except Advent & Lent. The cost of the flowers are $50.00 for the Altar and $30.00 for the tabernacle.
The Use of Parish Support Envelopes
Our parish mails offertory envelopes to households whose members are registered in our parish. Using the envelope system is one way that a parish can verify your participation in weekly masses should you request a sponsor certificate, signed parish affiliation form, sacraments for your child, and the Sacrament of Marriage for adults. When you use the envelopes provided for the parish collections, all your contributions are recorded so that an end-of-year summary may be sent to you for income tax preparation. If you are not sure of your registration status or you currently do not receive weekly collection envelopes, please contact the parish office.
